Where was your favorite trail riding experience?
I have enjoyed riding at Big South Fork, but we have been at several nice campgrounds and have enjoyed them all.
Tell us something about you, anything.
We live on a small farm in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. I am employed in the health field as a medical technologist and my husband is a carpenter. My son also lives at home and is our farrier and trainer. We just love horses and have been accused of " collecting them". It is hard for us to sale any of them even though we are in the business of selling really nice and gentle and well gaited walking horses. We love horses of color, so most of our horses are palominos, buckskins, tobianos, sabinos, and greys. Even though we have been in the show business in the past and still have a two year old walking horse that is in training, our main love is trail riding. We just bought a trailer with living quarters and are hoping to get a lot of use out of it in the coming years. We love trail riding not only because of the scenery and being with our horses, but because we always meet some of the nicest people. We also love animals and we have seven dogs.

Long C Trails

We are thinking about going up to the Long C Trail and riding for a few days. We would be coming from the Knoxville area. Is it hard to pull a longer trailer on the roads leading into the campground? Is it hard to park a trailer in the campground?  Also, are the trails there pretty easy?

Beach ride at Myrtle Beach for the Heart Association

Are you going to Myrtle Beach for the beach ride this year? We went two years ago and really enjoyed it.

Potomac Horse Fever

Hey everyone. I just wanted to warn everyone to be on the lookout for Potomac Horse Fever. I have had two horses that have come down with it; lost one of them. This is something that most people don't think we have to worry about in Tennessee, but it is with us now. I also have a friend that lives about 20 miles from me that has a horse with it and is in very bad condition at UT Vet Hospital. If you notice your horse is acting differently about eating or drinking and is running a fever, it is… Continue
