I have two wonderful sons and I have been married to my loving husband for 10 years. I am always learning something new from my horses or about them. Most of all they have taught me to

Big South Fork

I want to celebrate my 45th birthday at Big South Fork with a few of my girlfriends November 17th. I will need to rent a cabin as I only have a two horse bumper pull. There is so much info on the net but what I am finding is many of these cabins you have to trailer to the trails. Does any one have a lead on a nice cabin where you don't have to trailer to the trails ??? I know many of you probably have living quarters in your horse trailer so you can stay in the park at the horse camps... I have… Continue

Karen, I have stayed at Laurel Fork and it is super nice. My friend and I stayed at the cabin they call Turkey Ridge, which is a 3bedroom, 2 bath house...they have a large wooded area to let the horses run as well as indvidual stalls. There is a circle drive, which makes it extremely easy to park. There is a trailhead about 50 yards from the entrance to this house, and if you do want to trailer your horse, its only a couple miles to the main trailheads that are right off the highway. in this particular cabin, there are 2 bedrooms upstairs, one w/ king bed, and other with bunk beds. the downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed i believe. The"corral" they mention on the web site is the large wooded area i mentioned.

From Mr. Guyes you are 15 miles from my house, and since I work for myself I can ride at least one day most weeks or on weekends. Although this week is my really busy horse week so cant ride this weekend.

You can go for miles behind my house and get really lost if you dont watch it. Also just down the road you can park at a friends barn and scoot up the ridge and be into the cheatham wildlife area.

Back in my shoeing days i worked a lot in southen cal. doing high end show horses.

I do know Mr. Guye quite well and can be caught loafing at his tack shop on ocasions..............
