I like a nice easy laid-back trail ride, no climbing up or sliding down mountains.

Riding with someone else is always more fun. Let me know when you're planning a ride.

I have been to lbl to check it out and it really is a nice place but since my husband is not as into horses and trail riding as me it seems a problem to go too long a distance so I am content to go to Natchez Trace state park as it is about 20 miles from me so close enough to do things by myself if I have to but really do not prefer it as if I have trouble with flats etc it is good to have someone who can take care of it and probably that is why he does not enjoy it as much as me there is also a very nice ride coming up in the end of Sept that is really a lot of fun and even has a cattle drive with it and games when you come back from the ride they also have hay wagons that go along with the horses so if you are unable to bring your horse you can go along on the hay wagon and have alot of fun too I am hoping to go to Bucksnort which is a little distance from me this week for a day to check out the food and facilities but since I have some dogs I have to leave home I can only stay overnight if the place is close enough for me to come home each day to take care of them It has been nice and cool out for a few days so I have been riding and driving the last few days around my property so I do not have to trailer since it takes longer to trailer my horse than to actually use them until I get in better riding condition this is the reason I am getting the pony ready since I will be able to sit n the carriage much longer than on horseback sure never saw this coming with age but it is a sad fact of life and I hate it since I have had horses for 44 yrs and always loved riding and driving hope you have a good day I am going to take advantage of another nice day and saddle up my horse and go out in the back of my place for a little while take care

Hi Angie I am an older woman who does not ride very much with groups as they ride a little harder than I can at this point we have some really nice overnight campouts with the horses that I enjoy very much but due to the weather being so rainy I have not been attending them much they are held at Natchez Trace State Park and are alot of fun I am also into driving my haeflinger pony but I am still training her for road work so she gets used to cars etc I sure enjoy getting comments from you but since I am new to this site I am still finding out about it I hope to hear from you soon take care

I've got a map of the Equestrian trails in Natchez Trace and there isn't any one trail that goes all the way around the park. That are broken trails.

Yes all of the trails are really good. They are well marked and easy to follow. I've got a map of all of the trails. Yes I do have a bridle that I use on Champ. Both of my horses have their own bridles and bits.

Don't worry about being concerned. After he bucked me off I was a little leary about riding him again too, but I got myself a really good riding teacher and she worked with Buck on ground manners for almost 3 months and I got on him and rode him and he's been great ever since. She taught me how to get him under control and keep him under control. I've also got self confidence issues too but I'm working through them and we can do it together.

When he bucked me it was 1 little hump up and he only did that because his saddle was slipping, he put me in the grass. No he's not done it since. He's been ridden alot. He's getting ready to be ridden in the local horse shows. He's a 4 year old but he's a sweet heart. If you're worried about it I'll ride Buck and you can ride my other horse Champ. He's a 10 year old proven trail horse.

I've got your phone number so I'll call you. It might be sometime next week. I know what you're talking about. My horse Buck did that too me just this past October. But it wasn't anything that he did on purpose. His saddle was slipping and he's not done it since, in fact he does try to be good...Katie

Thanks, I'll call you like a day or 2 before hand ok. There isn't a problem with you meeting me at the Trace or anything like that is there. I've also got another question for you. You're not going to charge me to ride with me are you? The reason that I'm asking that is this one lady wanted to ride my horses and claimed to be my friend but what it all boiled down to is she expected me to pay her to ride with me. I can't afford to do that I'm on Social Security. She told me that because she wasn't working right now that I should pay her like she's doing a job or something. I understand that but she should have told me that before hand...Katie

I used to like that kind of riding when I was younger. But now I'm happy with a nice long leisurely ride on the trails, looking and listening to nature.

I wouldn't see any reason why we can't. Maybe we can make arrangements sometime during the week or something to meet up at the Trace and ride.
