I ended up riding our 3 year old APHA filly on Friday due to fact my SSH mare had a runny eye (I think allergies). It has cleared up over the weekend. Our filly is extremely quiet and I had a nice ride even though I did get nervous a few times I was able to work through it. The ride began and ended in prayer. I have hired an instructor to trail ride with me for awhile to help me through the rough parts when I begin to tense and make my horse nervous. I believe God sends us exactly what we need when we request it, even if it is not what we want. We will ride again today. I am planning to ride one of my gaited horses. Thank you again for your support and prayer.
Linda, thank you for your words of comfort and sharing of faith. I was on your website recently and sent you a note requesting that you keep me in prayer. I, too believe in God's word and have found His comfort and blessings through this and other times of loss and sorrow in my life as well as His hand in the joy in my life. Thank you for the work you are doing at His calling. Blessings to you, Denise
Hi, Linda. I went on your website tonight. What wonderful work you have been called to do. I would appreciate it if you would keep me in prayer. I am quitting smoking and also working through my own fear about riding a new horse, having recently retired my long time trail partner due to medical problems. I will be riding my new SSH mare on Friday afternoon for the first time. She is a lot more spirited than I am used to. In fact her name is Spirit! Thank you. Denise
Hi, Linda. Hope you do get to AL soon to ride. If you haven't been to 7 Springs I will tell you that I love it. I've never been to KC but I hear it's good too. Hopefully soon I'll be able to ride. It's been hard to find a time due to rainy weekends. But today is beautiful.
Hi Linda - I was thinking of coming to the PWHAT ride at Williamsport Lake on Saturday. My little gaited horse can't go as fast as a Walker. Right now I can't find any one that I usually ride with that can come. Do they usually move out really fast? Or are there some that take their time, slower pace? Thanks, Dawn
Linda,
Suzanne, Laura and I are planning to ride on Thursday at Primm Springs. If you can make it we'd love to ride with you. Invite any others you'd like.
Hi Linda, thanks for the invitation and the patience with all my saddle pad troubles. I have never had that to happen before! Good news is...all the deep knee bends I've been doing this winter have paid off...I can now get on Little Rock without a 3-step mounting block! I really had my doubts about that! I hope your friends little horse that did the front flip is ok...never saw that before either! I really enjoyed myself and will be going back with my posse. It isn't not too far for a day ride and I liked the trails better than Many Cedars. I saw on the way back to the Trace a place on the right hand side of the road that looked like a campground...I think the sign said something like Thousand Trails...? Do you know anything about that place?
Linda,
Have you been riding lately at Laurel Hill? We were wondering if the trails tend to be muddy? We haven't been there since last summer. We went to Why Not Ranch last week and their trails stay pretty dry. Saturday sounds like it'll be a good day for riding!
Gee, don't know. sounds good but may be a bit too far. How far from Nashville do you think it is? Do they ride on trails lot? Sure would like to find some new folks and new trails to ride on.
Linda- Thanks for working on trails. I clip when I ride. I finally have my own trailer so may be able to come and help. Have been to Laurel Falls but never to Willamsport. Would love to know next time you are going. Don't mind the cold so much but the short days make it hard to get anywhere and have time to really ride. HATE all of this mud. Have a feeling that rain rot is going to be coming on back to visit.
We changed out plans for Sat and went to Percy Warner. A friend, who lives north of Nashville, wanted to join us and it was a lot closer for him if we went to PW. We had planned to ride there Friday but did not go because of the weather.
Looks like we are facing a week of winter weather but at least we will be getting closer to spring.
Will try to make the ride with you at Williamsport. I am glad you are scheduling it. Will let my buddies know about it.
Met folks you know yesterday at PW. They were the Smiths. He leads the Mule Day Wagon Ride. We chatted briefly at the lunch break and then after returning to the parking lot.
Thanks for the invite, but my horse is missing shoes. (I had surgery in November, an the doctor finally gave me permission to start ridin again) I return to work Monday, and boy do I dread that. I do like you're pic.
Hi Linda, thanks for thinking of me. It was a frantic couple of weeks there, but now things will start to slow back down, I hope. I am going to start working with the horses again to get ready for riding. Little Rock has GOT to learn how to back out of my trailer instead of turning around...and they have both become quite buddy sour, so need to work on that too. I got started on that already by taking them to a friends house over the holidays who had them in separate pastures. Let me know when you want to go ride.

I am looking forward to riding. Black. I haven't ridden Tennessee Walkers. Everyone tells me I will love their gate.
