Sounds like you had fun at the Fox hunt ....just don't let them get you to wear breeching's!!!lol I bet your mule is awesome and gaits nice!!! Jewel will be three in June,so I have taken it nice and slow with her. She is ready to break,I'm checking out trainer's for her ...have you ever heard of a guy named Laddie Key? He lives near Monterey,TN. I will be meeting him at the Mule day Celebration in Columbia,TN. He will be showing his mules at the show,so I can check out his training abilities!!!lol I would like to do it myself ...but I have no one to help me as an assistant,in case I need help!!! My knee is really bad and I'm not sure I could dismount quickly enough,if need be!!! Hopefully I will be riding her by Summer!!! I figured I would keep her in training for at least 3 months. I wish he didn't live so far away ,cause I want to see my mule often!!! Thanks for your comments,I have worked hard on my mule and I am happy with her so far!!! I'll keep you posted on how she is doing,ok? Take care,Audrey Rody

Hey Keith,I just posted some new photo's of my mule all tacked up with crouper and all ...she could've cared less .Check it out,ok? She's fat as mud....what do you think? I love my mule!!!

Hey Keith, It was good to hear from you again!!! What have you been doing? I have done everything but step over on my mule!!!! If it wasn't for my bad knee,I think I would've done it already. But I really am worried , if I had to dismount really quick,I don't think I could!!!! I have been checking into some trainers, there is one who lives in East Tennessee,I think,he lives in Hanging Limb,Tenn. Do you know where that is? His name is Laddie Key,my friend rode her neighbors mules, and she said they were very broke and well behaved, and Laddie had trained them!!! He trains gaited mules mostly. Then there are a few others ,but I'm not sure about the training methods they use!!! I sold my paint quarter horse ,so I have some money for training. There's something inside me ,that still wants to break her myself !!!! We'll see soon. But I will defenitely let you know when I come up that way,so keep in touch and hopefully I'll be riding my mule soon!!! Take care and Happy Trails,Audrey Rody

How neat you have mules! I love mules and would love to have one someday -- a gaited mule if possible. So they pull your wagon? That sounds like heaven to me! Do you all ever do the parades anywhere?

It was a glorious day - loved every minute of it... even when I was getting dipped in that cold stream. I added some pics for ya. I have spared ya'll the tags on the pictures, but you can add them if you like. Thank you so much for inviting me and for giving me such an excellent tour of the backside of Lone Mtn!

Hi Keith! Or should I say Howdy Neighbor! ;)
We sold our farm in Loudon, and are going to build a house and another little farm - so we are going to lease a place on Old Dutch Valley. I am not sure of the street number yet, though, but will let ya know! It isn't anything fancy, though. LOL I am so ready for this rain to stop so we can ride again! Take care!

I couldn't agree more about riding somewhere new. It would be really nice to ride somewhere different for a change. As for the rain that is why we spent all that money on those nice coats.

Nice pictures from Saturday's ride. I really enjoyed the ride and you couldn't ask for more beautiful weather. I'm hearing possible rain in the morning this coming Saturday. I guess we will have to see what they say around Thursday. Hopefully it will change.

Your mule did good!!! I loved all the riding when we were lost, but not the thought of spending the night in the woods, we did'nt have a jacket or anything.I also heard that there were bear in those woods,I found a trail that had tire tracks and allowed vehicles on them. So being logical minded that I am, I figured they would take us to civlization and it did, about four miles from camp on 297 hwy. I can't wait till my mule is ready to be trained, I may never ride a horse again!!! HA-HA!!! If you look on my photo's, I have a picture of my mule when she was a year old. The pics are'nt flattering of her, but you can see what color she is!!! She's turning a dark grey now, almost blackish!!! She was a very light grey this summer. I just had her wolf teeth pulled and her teeth floated. Getting all that taken care of before I start to break her, I don't want to give her an excuse to act up!!!HA-HA!!! It may be April before I get to come back up your way. I do love the riding up there,I bet the leaves are starting to change, beautiful I bet!!!! Take care and ride, ride ride!!!!! Audrey

I won't be doing that again unless I have someone who knows the trails with us!!!! How close are you to True west and do you know the trails good??? Next time I go I'll let you know ,maybe you could show us around them trails!!!HA-HA!!! Take care and keep riding them mules!!!!! Bye-Bye!!!! Audrey

Hey Keith, good news i have a young lady from work that is wanting to join us on our ride tomorrow.I told here we would probably be leaving out around 8:00am in the morning. It don't look like my son in-law will be riding. I was told he will be working this weekend.

My son in-law and I will probably be riding at Lone Mountain this Saturday. That's to bad about the people being on the wrong side of the state. It's always nice to meet new people to ride with. Well maybe we can hook up and ride together this weekend.

I appreciate you invite. So will you be doing any riding this weekend? I'm looking forward to this beautiful weather Saturday. It should make it a wonderful day to enjoy a all day trail ride.

That guy does a good job with mules, wish ya'll were'nt so far away, maybe I could get him to work with my mule!!!! It has been raining non stop here lately, and I've got to rides scheduled for this weekend, but their calling for rain both days!!!Bummer!!! I broke my black and white spotted horse to ride, but I'm sending him to a trainer for 30 days.I plan on taking him to Buffalo River this October.I just could'nt find enough time to ride him, or people to ride with ,to get him going good. This trainer can really get a good gait out of one, gotta have that!!!HA-HA!!!!!Have fun this weekend!!!! Later,Audrey
