Hi Deb, May I visit and bring a friend to your place sometime? I hated I missed supper after the Brad Cameron clinic last year. My Mom passed away the end of March so I'm hoping to get back to my horses fulltime. thanks and take care. Elaine
Hi Deb, Sorry I'm just getting back to you. Because of all the bad weather, we decided not to try to get a ride together this fall. May try to get something together IF the weather get better. I will let you know. On another note... I have a Nice Quarter mare that I want to breed. I am looking for a Nice sized jack to breed her to.
Looking for good disposition, conformation, and so on. Color is not a priorty, just eventual size and nature. She has an awesome disposition and conformation herself. Any suggestions?
Great!!! I can hardly wait even though I will come as spectator this trip. Bella has taught me she is smarter than any horse I have ever had and so ther is much for me to learn. So I'm all ears......ha! and eyes..See ya in the morning. Elaine
.Mercy, I bet you are BUSY. I will give you a call Sat morning while I am on my way. I have been to many functions at the utm pavilion. If you need a spare hand that day, I will be more than happy to volunteer, whatever I can do. if you need me to come early, just hollar. 731.676.4359. Elaine
Deb, I wish I could come to the clinic, but I have to go to the True West Campground in East Tennessee this coming weekend. I would really enjoy that,I have some video's of Brad's,he's good!!!! I have ground drove my mule fully tacked several times now, I can put weight in the stirrup and flop the fenders, she does'nt care. But when I go to stand in the stirrup, she'll move away kinda fast,to me I think that means she's not ready for that step yet! What do you think it means? I want to do this right. She really is a good girl, and loves to do her tricks and please me.How do you know when they are ready? I live in mule town, Columbia ,TN. I have desensitized her pretty good,I can blow her with the leaf blower, flop tarps all over her,etc....I know she trusts me. Do some mules except being rode without any bucking or fuss?I could ask you a million questions, but I won't for now!!!HA-HA!!!! I will tell you a little about my girl, her name is Jewel, and she is a flashy grey with a wide blaze and three white socks. Oh Yeah, she has dark spots here and there on her. I don't know where those came from? She is suppose to be gaited, but can't really see her gaiting!!!Some one told me that some won't gait till you collect them and set them up.I will try to get a picture put on my photo's of her. It's nice to have someone to talk to about mules!!!! Thank You, Audrey
Hello Deb, my name is Audrey Rody and I have always loved mules but never owned one till now!!! I was turning 50 and said to myself " If I don't get one now I never will", so I did. I have had so much fun ,learning from my molly mule. I bought her at 6 months old and now she is 2 years old. Can I comment you from time to time, with mule questions? I have bought the meredith Hodges book and that has helped some, but I would like to know more about their personality's and such!! At what age do you think you should break one to ride? I've heard several different ages, can you tell when they are ready? I knew my young horse was, because he kept wanting me to fool with him. He would leave the herd to come follow me down the fence row and I would tell him to walk, whoa and then walk again. And he would really pay attention to me and obey me,so I new he was ready to break. But mules are so different,do they kinda let you know??? I love my mule and I want the best relationship possible. Anyways,I could talk mules all day,I have so many Questions. Let me know if I can ask you mule stuff!!! Another Long Eared friend,Audrey
Great. Saturday will be a good day for me. I'm excited to get to see both activities because I know little about long ears. I am looking forward to meeting you. Do you know if they will have concessions? Thanks, Elaine
That would be so cool to come see your babies. my daughter would love it I go through Dresden a lot cuz I board my horses in Martin. i will definitely take you up on your offer. When is it convenient for you?
Deb, Thank you for the invite. I will have to take you up on that. I will let you know when we finally decide on a date for the ride. There are several people I ride with that have mules. Been thinking of getting one myself. Anyway, I will be in touch. Greg
Hi Deb, I am southeast of you about 2.5 hours (pulling a trailer...a little longer) I live 10 minutes from Many Cedars and 10 minutes from Laurel Hill, which both are very good places to ride. BUT it is getting the time of year that riding is limited at both because of Deer Hunters. We are planning our Fall Colors ride, if you want , I can let you know when the dates are set and send you the info. "Happy Trails" , Greg
