I am from Ky and lived 25 mi from Lexington. Taylorsville Lake has riding trails and was building a new bath house and camping area for trail riders. It's not too far off I-64 between Louisville & Lexington (just before Frankfort). I liked riding there, although the last time I was there there weren't a lot of trails. Campbellsville area did have some trails in the State Park there and they looked nice, know a lady who lived next to the State Park. As far as right in the immediate area of Lexington there really wasn't anyplace good to ride. Mammoth Cave is suppose to be nice, that's a little further South. The Ky Horse Park may let you bring your own horse there and ride but the person would have to check with them. I also believe there was a family that lived in the Nicholasville area (outside Lexington) that were starting trails on their farm. I'd just try doing internet searches and see what you come up with.

I rode in Campbellsville once, outside Lexington, on some land that was either a National or State Park. It was a pretty fun ride, except at the time I went it was early Spring and a bit slick going down some steep rocky places. Sorry I don't know more than that, but I bet there's a directory of trails she could find.
