I work in the public school system and can't wait to get out and ride this summer. Problem is, everybody else seems to be at work! Is there a posse of teachers eager for the trails as well? I live in Hazel Green, Alabama and ride a Spotted Saddle Horse, Dakota.

By the way, prayers for healing appreciated. Our little colt became a gelding today (ouch). He's doing better than me.

I have a "horsey friend" that invited me to a clinic on the 2nd Saturday in June (13th). Just my luck. The only two horse invites I've had in a year and they are on the same day!

OK Teachers, hope you all had a great and safe Memorial Day. My school is not out unti Thursday. Would love for us to get together at my barn in Short Mtn on the 2nd Sat in June. Maybe cook out afterwards. Give me some response and we will plan it. My barn is in the northeast corner of Cannon County. Right on the Warren, Dekalb, Cannon lines. Check it out and let me know.

Nice meeting you Deb. I am a future teacher as I am finishing my bachelors in History and Poli Sci with a teaching licensure. I love to ride and live just about 20 min up the road from you in Fayetteville.

Hi Deb! We in Madison County school district have just had to add two more days to our calendar to make up for our Swine Flu closings. Hazel Green is about five miles south of the Tennessee state line. After the holidays sounds great. I should be free by June 1st.

Hello there, I am a teacher and also counting the days. My barn's in Woodbury but I love to camp and go new places, plus meet new riding buddies. I am not familiar with Hazel Green Alabama and have no idea how far south you are. I have a spotted saddle and a TWH. Going to East Fork for Memorial Day if anyone is interested. Also, have many acres to ride right out of my driveway. Maybe we could meet at Circle E after the holiday?? just stay in touch and we will definitely get together

I'm glad to see postings! It seems a little harder to connect on this "social networking site" than Facebook. I'm just learning both, but anyway, this is GREAT! I don't know much about what I'm missing as far as rides, right now. Where is the Strolling Jim ride? And when? Until school is out, I'm kindof stuck with year end activities and reclaiming my Auburn Freshman in time to send her out to JH Ranch in California (Google it, it's fabulous). She's going to work as a wrangler at the barn. We just picked up two additional days of school because we had to close Thurs. and Friday because of Swine Flu in Madison City Schools. They haven't told us yet when the makeup days will be.

Hrllo! I am a public school teacher, and am counting down the days. Only two more Mondays after tomorrow!!! I live near the Shelbyville area, and plan on riding as much as I can this summer. Are you going to the Strolling Jim ride? Talk to you soon,

Hi Cyndy, I am a former teacher and love to ride, check out my site. I live in southern Tennessee, but ride all over. We are riding at the Walls of Jericho Sat. May 9 at 10am if you want to join us. I ride during the week. Some of my Alabama buddies meet me at Laurel Hill in Laurence County. It is one of the best places you will ever ride. I have been wanting to come to Alabama and ride also. I am from Cullman originally and still have family there.
Blessings, Linda
