Interesting horse/people trainer from Australia

I was on a horseback ride with some friends at a new place called Catoosa Ridge next to Catoosa Wildlife Management Area near Crossville. One of the guys I'm riding with, Tony Reed, had meet this guy from Australia who came to America to ride across it training horses and horse people. His name is Joe Guy and has a great website at joeguylongrider.com. He is also a performer, singer and songwriter. He started out from Franklin, TN. and rode down into Alabama through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and back through East Tennessee to Franklin, 1500 miles. Our ride at Catoosa Ridge just happened to coincide with Joe being in that area and Tony took Joe the horse he started out on to ride back to Franklin. The horse he was on was a black Walking Horse that the owner was ready to shoot because it was so difficult to deal with and could not be ridden. Joe bought the horse for $200 and was riding the horse the same day. He has lots of such stories and kept us laughing for hours. Go to Joe's website for more information about his trip, music and training.
Even though there was a couch available for Joe in the cabin we were staying in, Joe just slept on the porch with his horse blanket for a bed and his saddle for a pillow. Said he did not want to get too comfortable since he still had 3-4 days of riding left to do.

its a pretty place to ride...i know tony, and the friends he was with that weekend. They are all great. The trails are pretty and easy. There is nothing hard about any of them, and is a great place to ride, especially for families w/ children. If you are one of the many who have kids who want to ride, but then after an hour or so are ready to quit, this place is especially great for that. There are signs everywhere sending you back to camp if you need to go..drop the kids off, stretch, and hit those trails again.

How did you like their trails? It is close to where I live and would like to try the campground.
