Thank you. He is a very interesting horse. He is approximately 25 years old now and this picture was made in Oct. of 2008 at Bucksnort. He is half Quarter and half Spotted Saddle horse. A friend got him many years ago with a previous injury in his right eye that caused a floating tumor but it never slowed him down. This guy does both breed gaits and has a very smooth canter. I have ridden him for years for her and was fortunate enough to get her to let me take him home with me over a year ago (the fruiend is now 71 and she doesn't ride anymore). Unfortunately he rubbed two layers off his cornea this summer and has a blind spot in his left eye now so he will not be taken on any more trail rides for his safety and ours. I will probably let my frined take him back to Dandridge in October so he can be comfortable and enjoy his remaining years in retirement with her. She cries everytime she sees him so I know he will be happy. He has been one of my favorite hores and always safe with anyone who rode him.

Hi Keith, I agree with taking your time on finding the right horse. I must also add, ride before you buy. Some people's idea of a beginner horse are not always correct. I had some scary rides, but I eventually found a horse that my kids can take lessons on.

Hi Keith :)

I have some friends here in TN who have great trail horses - they supply YMCA horse camps. They are not horse 'traders'! I also have a natural hoofcare farrier in Kentucky who comes across some good horses in his travels. Let me know if you need their numbers.
Good Luck!

Hi Keith, I agree with what Ken Scott told you. Don't buy the first one you go and look at. Their is plenty of people on here that can help you and your daughter find the perfect horses. Tara Kelly on here buys, sells and trades all the time. She might be able to help you out.
