I rode with Tim and his mule and another friend on the Natchez Trace today. It is the same trace that you get to Many Cedars on, but north from Hwy 50 to Hwy 7, and on north to Garrison Creek. The section from Hwy 7 to Garrison Creek is what we rode today, and it is the best part. It is about 15 miles and we rode it in 3.5 hours. That was moving on pretty fast with the mule in the lead most of the way. She can wear out some gaited horses if they aren't in shape. It is a one way trail crossing under the trace several times. The way we do it, to keep from doubling back, is to leave one trailer at Hwy 7, load the horses on the other one and drive up the Trace to Garrison Creek, unload and ride back to Hwy 7. We load the horses on that trailer and drive back and pick the other trailer up at Garrison Creek. Both trailers end up making one trip to Garrison Creek. You can see the Judd's farm (Naomi and Wynona) from there. It is a very nice trail, scenic and not too difficult, good for experienced and beginner riders. Johnny

Hi, I just got back from Jamestown. Primm Springs is a real pretty ride. It is not trails in the woods, but chert roads back in the country with creeks crossing the road in a lot of places, plenty of shade in hot weather. I go there by Hwy 7 out of Columbia toward Dixon, it is 10 or 12 miles after you pass the Natchez Trace. There is good riding on the Trace too, especially from Hwy 7 north to Garrison Creek. Tim and his mule were fine after the bee stings. Do you ride only on weekends? Johnny

I know where that barn is and I will tell all my horse buddies about it,you could even post her horses on this websites classified add. I might swing by there on my way to see my two year old that's in training. What does her paint look like,is he a big horse? I had a guy looking for a big paint, he rode mine ,but I guess he was'nt big enough for him,to buy him!!! Mine is 15h 1 inches. I've ridden at Circle E a few times, the trails behind the sawmill were very muddy, but over behind the campground was nice. But some friends of mine rode up there a month or two ago and said the trails were'nt muddy behind the saw mill,so maybe just certain times of the year ,it's muddy? I hope the Fall last awhile and does'nt go right to Winter!!! Let me know when ya'll will be riding this way next time and I'll try to meet ya'll. I will be gone on an organized ride at Buffalo River from Oct.16th thru Oct.27th. Next week I will be very busy getting ready for the trip, farrier, buying hay,etc..... I take three horses just for me to ride,so they all have to be bathed, shaved and mane and tails detangled!!! It's a lot of work!!! But "I LOVE IT"!!! Talk to you later, Audrey

Hey, that picture of the pretty golden palomino looks familiar. I had seen your saddle for sale on the classifieds, I'm glad to see you on here. I went back to Yanali or " Fountain Creek" again by myself today on a different gelding. All my buddies were unavailable to ride. Look on the Forum section, I have posted the closed dates for Laurel Hill due to deerhunting. I will be glad to meet you in Columbia one day and show you the trails at Laurel Hill, and maybe you can show us Normandy. Talk to you later, Johnny
