Had a blast at the Katlyn Rides last weekend. Thank you to Lyn and all her staff for the wonderful experience.
Had fun catching up with everyone. Thanks for all your suggestions for my future rides. Still open to suggestions.
I recently posted two rides on actha.us, May 5 & 6, 2012 at Many Cedars Campground.
In response to Stephanie's question
1. Organization- as Hilda said the riders make plans around posted times and may even have other obligations. Although relaxed is important starting at posted times is appreciated
2. Obstacles that offer a challenge (at least a few). Being creative and having either more obstatcles to test the horse/rider team or a variety of required skills rather than 4 or 5 using the same skill set makes the ride enjoyable
3. Well marked trails
4. Evening social time
5. Prizes - I am not a big supportor of the ACTHA bucks which require further expenses on my part to use them and the quick expiration dates. A treat to take home is a treasure even if it is something inexpensive
I do love the ACTHA rides- they give me motivation to work on skills with my "boys", a chance to get on trails that I might not explore, new friends, improved horse knowledge and stress relief. Can't wait until the Many Cedars ride!
