Day trail ride locations 24 Replies

OK, I know about Percy Warner and Bowie Parks.  I LOVE them!  Where else can I easily get to and ride in one day?  What are your favorite places to ride in and around Nashville?Continue

I like all the trails you mentioned Sharon, although I haven't been to Walter Hill. But I'm always up for exploring new places. Just need a break from the weather!

The only trails I have ridden are Percy Warner and Natchez Trace...I have not been a big trail rider in the summer because I used to show.  This is the first year I donot have a show horse, so I need to meet some cool gal pals and enjoy my pleasure horses...For one horse I would pull my bumper pull, which is not my favorite, but, can do, I just need 'to do it' !! But, prefer, when the weather does break.  Thanks so much for including me !!!

I have been wanting to ride at Long C for quite a while and have never been to Cordell or Walter. East Fork is a fall favorite and BSF anytime. But I am also in the middle of a big mess. We had a water leak from our refrigerator and have to redo all the floors downstairs, so am just going to go and get everything done that needs to be taken care of. We plan on putting our place on the market and downsizing. Can ride once in a while but just have to be flexible for the next few weeks.

Hi Jamie, where do you like to ride?  Percy Warner (mostly on Sat or Sun because I leave real early to avoid the traffic), Long C, Cordell Hull, Walter Hill are my day rides usually.  I do like to ride at East Fork in Jamestown, Big South Fork and would like try new places that aren't too far away.  It looks like you and Linda, Heather and Barbara have Tennessee Walkers.  I have two Spotted Saddle horses.  When the weather breaks a little hopefully we can get together and ride.  Anyone like any of the day ride trails I mentioned above?

Hey Girls, I am new to this group, and I would love to join a ride, to meet some other weekday riders.  I live in Franklin, and have a TN Walker, and he loves the trails.  I would love to meet up with a ride, need to get out more with my steed, as I am a 'single' rider, meaning noone else in the family cares to !

Hey girls, I love riding and I can stay in the saddle all day but will be glad to ride for a shorter ride to help you out Barbara. I have been gone for a few weeks and have a shoeing appointment on Tuesday. I want to try out this new place in Alabama. If we can get a day that is not to hot. I may try riding at Laurel Hill early in the morning on Thursday. Will keep you posted.

I agree, I would love to ride with more people. Sharon, I am riding tomorrow at Normandy, we will be heading out around 9:30 if you (or anyone else) would like to join us.

I live in Lebanon, too, and am always looking for someone to ride with.  I'm retired, so weekdays usually work for me.  I can't take the heat and neither can my horse, but as soon as the weather breaks I'd love to go.  I have a TN Walking Horse who is a great trail horse.  Since I'm old, I might not be able to do more than 3 or 3 1/2 hours. But I'm anxious to start riding again.  Dang I hate this weather!

Oops, I don't mean single as in married or single.  I just mean people who ride by themselves.

Also, if our riding styles are compatable, maybe we could go for a weekend or more somewhere.  It seems like there are single riders out there that just can't seem to coordinate a place to ride and get to know each other.  So, let's try and see if we can get something together.
