Potomac Horse Fever

I was just wondering if anyone of you have had any problems with Potomac Horse Fever. I have had it in my barn twice now in the last few years. I have a horse now at UT Vet Hospital in Knoxville, Tn. that tested positive for it. I also have a friend that lives about 20 miles from me that also has a very sick horse at UT that has also tested positive for it. We live close to Knoxville and from what I have heard, some of the vets around this area are going to start really pushing the vaccine. I know that I am going to get the rest of my horses vaccinated for it, even though I know that it won't prevent them from getting it. But I lost a horse a few years ago from it and I certainly don't want to ever go through that again. If anyone out there has any words of wisdom about PHF, I would love to hear what you have to say.
