Hi Robert, the Twin Forks trail does have a lot of history, going waaaay back to the 1500's when it was a hunting reserve for the local Indians.
I wrote an article a few years back for a magazine, so hang with me a little while and let me see if I can find and get it on this website.

I want to celebrate my 45th birthday at Big South Fork with a few of my girlfriends November 17th. I will need to rent a cabin as I only have a two horse bumper pull. There is so much info on the net but what I am finding is many of these cabins you have to trailer to the trails. Does any one have a lead on a nice cabin where you don't have to trailer to the trails ??? I know many of you probably have living quarters in your horse trailer so you can stay in the park at the horse camps... I have never been there and don't want to make a mistake about where we stay. Thanks a bunch ! Karen, Chapmansboro, TN.

Ride safe and have fun...I'm jealous! Actually, I am hoping the trails have dried out some by the time we get there, Little Rock isn't fond of sucking mud holes! If you see any particularly pretty trails that have a lot of fall color or good views, please let me know. Thanks!
