How many horses do you own?
What breed do you own primarily?
The walknnnnn Nodddd type
Where was your favorite trail riding experience?
Big South Fork.... got lost for about 5 hrs. after figuring out the way back to the truck, one of the guys with us realized he had lost his saddle bag with wallet and truck keys in it... took us another 4 hrs in the saddle to find it. But was all worth it.
Tell us something about you, anything.
I'm the barn queen, pitch fork diva, keeper of the horsey treats.I'm married to the best riding partner there is. He knows when we're on a trail ride, what I mean when I say " Ummm honey I need to go visit with the bears in the woods" LOL I'm a mother of 3 teen boys that are growing up and trying out their wings, leaving me with that empty nest syndrom. Thank goodness for the horses, their my babies. We have 24 horses and expecting 3 mule colts this spring. I'm totally in love with my TWH. He is just turning 4. Still a stud and stands almost 16.3. His sire is "THE TOUCH and his dame is "MISS BLACK RAIN". His name is "TOUCHED IN THE RAIN" T-MAN is his barn name.

Hey y'all, of course, ask away...I had a heck of a time getting "good" information due to the fact that alot of old timers are full of good intentions, but masses of misinformation:-) Around here anyway....I cannot tell you how many came out and thought that my jackstock were mules(!) due to their size.......you can e-mail me direct too mulelady@frontiernet.net - I will be busy trying to get hay up this week, since this is the first week without rain in about 6......we are so behind!

Hello, glad you liked the pic of Dawg.He took a flying leap from the top of the falls. Its hard to tell ,but his feet had not touched down yet.
This one of our friends Renee Walls, we were riding at Rattlesnake Falls near Lawrenceburg. Donnie

I am so sorry...the discussion group is on www.cattlegrower.com You should consider joining (free). Don't be put off by the name...there are a huge number of equine owners on there too.....once you join, join the "Love Longears" group.....there are mule folks on there from all over the US, and many of them have been breeding and training mules for years....it is great to have so many knowledgable folks to depend on:-) Sorry for the confusion!

Oh, I forgot...what kind of jack did you use? Our jack has a four beat lateral gait and every baby, even out of the AQHA and ApHC Mama's has been gaited....you will likely have gait out of your baies, since the mama's are gaited....Join our discusion group...Love Longears...there are a bunch of mule folks on there and I am sure you will have some mule questions! Also, we geld our boy babies at 4 weeks old. The vet knocks them out completely, and they do not miss a beat...they jump up and start nursing...they never develop intact boy behavior. Dr. Robert Miller who wrote the book on imprinting and has been a mule man forever actually gelds his babies at 2 weeks, but we do it at 4 and freeze brand while they are knocked out. Also, they need to be sutured, you cannot just use an emascultor on them.....also with our gaited boys out of TWH and racking, we have had some scrotal hernias that did not appear until mid-geld........you will want to advise your Vet so that he or she can be prepared for this........

Alvin and Rena' I am so glad that you made some mules....they are the best thing since sliced bread! OK, the Mammoth Jackstock babies are even cuter, but don't tell my mules....the Jackstock are so sweet and docile, and a joy to be with. But, with two different equine species and the hybrids on the farm, we do love them all! If you are ever heading up through here, come and stay with us.....

Well shucks, thanks for your interest but unfortunately we had to cancel the trip due to an emergency in my family. My mother was placed in the hospital but has since been released. She is OK now. We were very sad to miss our opportunity to stay with friends and trail ride in Sante Fe but we hope to reschedule within the next few months.

Hope to meet you on the trails soon.

Cheers and happy trails,
