What breed do you own primarily?: Gaited - 2 TWH, 1 saddle mare

Where was your favorite trail riding experience?: Watertown Rocky Branch Fall Ride

Tell us something about you, anything.: Single mom, care taker of my mother, full time job too My daughter and I are just starting to get comfortable with trail rides and getting out with the horses. We attended the Cedar Forest STARS ride this year and had a great time. If anyone is in the Norene/Watertown area and would like to team up for a relaxed ride let us know!

Suitable places to ride for beginners??

After pestering so many of you for riding partners I am pleased to announce we've ridden for the last 3 weekends straight, and plan on riding again tomorrow too. :-) Our group consists of 2 mature ladies, (one of which was struck by a car while riding, killing the horse and busting her up pretty bad), two teen riders with little experience and no fears, and a 10 year old inexperienced rider with a pushbutton horse. We need to call ourselves "The Apple Dumpling Gang"! I am trying to locate…

Spanky Osborne benefit trail ride

We went to the benefit ride yesterday and I wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful time!! We were treated with helpful understanding advise, and even loaned breaststraps to finish the ride with. We were admittedly the greenhorns on this one, and unprepared, but have every intention of getting better with time.I wish Spanky the best of luck in the months ahead, and a speedy recovery. What type saddle do I need? Any suggestions?

My daughter has a Tennessee Walker who is slim built with high withers. His saddle is hitting him at his withers and is pinching. Can anyone recommend a brand with a wider tree to look for to replace the current saddle with? Thanks, Linda

Just wanted to say hi. Looks like we may live pretty close to each other. I saw your question about a wider tree saddle. You could use shims to get the tree off your horse's withers until you find what you want. It's a great way to free up their shoulders and you'll be amazed at the difference in the ride. They're easy to make too!
