I have a question about trailering...I have a Chrysler Pacifica, all wheel drive. I'm thinking of getting a 2 horse bumper pull trailer. I wouldn't think of using this for long road trips, but I live 3 miles from Twin Forks at Walter Hill, and just over 10 miles from Cedars of Lebanon. Keeping the speed down on these trips only, any thoughts about using this 3500# rated vehicle to pull 2 horses? Your comments would be appreciated.

I agree with Jackie. I had a 1/2 ton pick up that pulledmy bifg trailer just fine, however it did not stop it well and I didn't know this till I had to stop suddenly where a bridge was out. Needless to say I traded up to a ton truck with heavy rear end in it after I smelled the brakes at the bridge incident.

Get a lightweight all aluminum trailer...mine weighs 2100 pounds....shadow or featherlight are good ones.

Pulling is probably not a problem-STOPPING is. And no matter how carefully you drive, there are folks who see a trailer and pull out suddenly, cut in front or stop suddenly in front of you. Remember too that horses are live animals and if they get to moving around in the trailer it can be very unstable.  Personally I would just ride the horses to Twin Forks!

You need to factor in your trailer weight + your horses weight.  Are you close to that 3500# limit?  I don't know if there are hills but that would factor in to my decision too.  What's the wheel base of your Pacifica?

I tend to err on the side of caution, but I think to make an informed decision you need to know some more details, I only asked a couple questions, there's more (imo) to consider before making that decision.  Good luck, whatever you do!
