It's now 2011, are they going to require us to have a permit and liability insurance for our horses before they let us ride there this year or have they, the park service, backed down?

Everyone, please, that rides over @ Percy Warner Park, fill out the registration form in the wooden box at the trailer parking.  The park service needs to get a "feel" for how many horsemen, (and women) are using this park for riding horses.  I was told they are under the impression, not too many horsemen are riding and concidering splitting the useage with the mountain bike riders...I THINK, NOT.  Rumor has it, Horsebackriding during the week, mountain bike on the weekends.  Supposidly, there are mountain bike trails across the street.  Trail bikes and horses don't mix.  Should be enough property out there for everyone....right?

I have written to Eleanor Willis, Executive Director or Friends of Warner Parks, voicing concern about the exclusion of trail riders from the park trails.  I will let everyone know when I hear back from her regarding this issue.

I'd also like to know if there are trail riders who would be interested in taking an active role in helping to maintain the trails at the park.

I was told that they backed off of that.
