As I sit here everyday 7:30 to 4 in my office in Princeton NJ I dream of my trail rides with my sister in TN. I will never forget pulling that first hill on Slick in Normandy. I almost peed myself! I have ridden trails in Jersey for 30 years but I had never ridden hills before. I did not relize that Slick had committed himself to his path up and I tried to rein him an easier way. I still remember Lorianna's face when she said something like "You better get going up that hill, never stop on the way up"!! I was like ok dropped the reins gave him gas and I think closed my eyes!! The rush was amazing.
Since 07 I have ridden Normandy, Short mountain and Rainbow falls. I have never seen hills and slides like that before. I definetly attribute not crashing to the mounts I had, Slick & Jamie. I love the pic I have of Jamie with dirt on her butt from sliding down a hill. I actually felt like a cowgirl, flat riding became boring to me in Jersey. In May of 07 when I left after my trip I decided I was moving to TN I just had to tell my Husband. He said OK. My son is finishing High school and we are looking I am excited. I am hoping to network with friends here on this forum to possibly help out with looking for a farm and employment. My husband is a talented Machinist who also is a programmer. I can do anything. I have been working at a fragrance company for 20 years in the lab. I am a bench Technician. I could do pharmacy work or whatever I dont care.I just want my little house and big property.
We are looking in Canon & Coffee county I want to be close to my sister Lorianna, she broke my heart moving 20 years ago and we are destined to grow old together.
Thanks for reading!

Hi Mary,
I just live around the corner from Normandy.. just moved here in November to Manchester and we absolutely love it.. have ridden short mountain, but not Normandy yet and it is so close. Have ridden near Wartrace some really downhill stuff.. yikes.. I to am hoping to ride more in the coming year ahead, but I'm currently unemployed and with no insurance it can be somewhat scary thought at the moment.. it will have to wait. But, if you get this way.. hope to meet you and your sister.

Hi Mary, my husband and I moved here from New Orleans. He actually took about a half cut in pay, but it was the best decision we ever made. Look into the Lewisburg area. They have an industrial park that may have a job for you. I cannot remember the company name but it is cosmetics. Also, they have a lot of beautiful areas with horse property and it would not be to far from your sister. Go to realtracs and search Marshall Co. property. My close friend actually commutes to NJ every week from here.
Blessings, Linda

Hi Mary! I moved to TN 2 1/2 years ago from Rochester, NY. I live in Maury County and love it!!! I just bought my first horse and am so excited. I don't want to ride alone, though, so I just joined this site to make some new friends. Good luck in your search for a place and employment in TN!
