Also, 17 yr old well trained Quarter Horse Gelding is looking for a forever home. He was a rescue of sorts. Would make a great kids horse. Rode by 17yr old girl with no bridle. He has hay allergies but is fine when fed only good quality hay--blossoms when he's on pasture only. Let me know if you think you know of a good…

Can anyone help me with suggestions on supplements, or applications that would help bring out the sheen on my horse's coat?

Just a friendly reminder as we begin a new riding season for those of you who really enjoy taking your horses out into the water. I know you all know that there can be sudden drop-offs and deep holes just a few feet from shore. Before entering the water, if you are using a tie-down, remove it. I'll always remember hearing about the horse who drowned in Dale Hollow Lake because he was wearing a tie-down and stepped off into deep water. Happy and safe trails!!!!!

Again, the weather was perfect. After some nasty January weather, Feb has been kind to us so far and lets hope winter is truly over with.
We had a great time, headed out with 23 hounds, wow what a sight to see. They worked very well.
Some nice trot, canter and hand galloping work, a few nice jumps, and several big trees to jump over, which I prefer. Though we were out for little over 2 hours, we did alot of riding. The views are breath taking from the top of several ridges. I…

I am interested in confirming a rule about painting spotted walking horses hooves for show. When I used to show years ago I was always told if the hoof is white/natural then you just put a gloss/shine on it, if it is black you paint it with black hoof paint. All my spotted walking horses have natural/white hooves and my husband always paints them black. I'm not sure this is right I would just liek to confirm? Anyone know the official rules here?

He was a good size fellow too ! The weather was beautiful, THINK SPRING , 66 and sunny and the footing was great. So nice to see the sun for a change. Lots of trot and canter work. It won't be long now, hopefully, till the weather breaks and we can start camping again. With that in mind, does anyone have any camp cooking recipes they would like to share?
One of my favorites is mini pineapple upside down cakes made in recycled tuna fish cans. Save several tuna fish cans and wash them out really well.
Prepare a yellow cake mix as directed on the box. Spray each can with cooking spray and put one pineapple ring in the bottom of each can. If you like, put a…

Another great hunt with BGH !! Weather was beautiful and the footing was excellent. Hounds worked exceptionally well. Staff even Tally ho'd a coyote. We had alot of nice gallops, traveling up and down several hills, beautiful views and vistas.
My TB, Gentle Ben, who is now 20 years old, did a great job of keeping up. I give the old boy credit.
Remember we do have an OPEN public hunt coming up in March, everyone is invited and we will all have a great time.
