I am fairly new (in my adult life) to horses. I've had my Belgian Draft, Sunny who is 13 for 3 1/2 years and I have a new gelding, Lakota, who is a KY spotted saddle. He is only 4 1/2 but such an affectionate guy! Love him already!

I grew up in south knoxville near seymour. I grad. from Doyle high School. But I have not lived there since HS. Lots of my family is still in Ktown. My parents live in Tellico Village. What made you decide to get in to Horseback riding?
Welcome to the Happy Hoofers. I am new to the gaited world but have ridden quarter horses for 20 + years. I am in the process of looking for that perfect gaited horse for myself. I want a horse stocky like a quarter horse but has that smooth gait. I ride several times a year in Tn. love your neck of the woods. I like NC but the riding is in Va and Tn
I look forward to meeting you and I love your horsey pics too are you riding the KY mnt one yet ? I'm still looking for something along those lines myself, Mr Murphy gave me some good advice on them. I have a 6 horse and truck to haul too here in so east TN if we want to pool to save money. heres my email and web site, drop me a line sometime.
Hi again! Gosh, we are pretty close! I would love to hear more about Karen Scholl, sounds wonderful. If you could get me the info, I would really appreciate it. I have been pondering the clinics in middle tn with the certified instructors but would certainly be open to doing something closer to home. I keep my boys at Ten Oaks Farm on Northshore you probably know where it's at. The owner is a very dear friend of mine, keeping them there is the next best thing to having my own place. My hubby really isn't horse crazy and I will never be able to talk him into moving from the Lake. He's a great sport to enable me to continue this journey. Once in a while when we go to BSF he will ride with me, I call it his obligatory rides. Maybe we can get together for a playday??? I have a 3 horse trailer, and my schedule is pretty flexible.
here's my e-mail address maybe we can exchage #'s

Cheers and happy trails,
Good Morning! Well another raining kind of day...looks like not so much horsey time the next week due to wet weather. Great picture of you and your horse. Where in Knoxville are you???? I live on the border of Knox & Loudon just a little south of Northshore. What are your interests with your boys? Where do you normally like to ride?
Not too many of us on this end of the state, so much going on in Middle Tn. I have a few friends over there and it is non-stop activities.
Wish it wasn't quite so far. Trail riding is my therapy along with many, many other things. I'm also doing the Parelli Natural Horsemanship courses and absolutely love it. It's all fairly new to me but what a huge difference it is making...I can actually tell that my boys love it! Vicki
