The following video shows a hoof where the frog touches the ground and absorbs impact and then when a shoe is added that stops the frog from making contact. We have a very good barefoot trimmer in our area - Joe Amelang, cost is $35 but don't have shoes falling off to be reset. I do every 6 weels.

I bought my first mule ever,she was 6 months when I got her. She is now 2 years old.But I have found out they are a lot different from horses,in a lot of ways.I love my mule and want to make sure I get the right saddle,mules don't respond well to pain.They have a straighter back than a horse ,some people do use horse saddles,but I'm gonna get one with a mule tree in it.I don't want to give her an excuse to act up,by an ill fitting saddle!!!!HA-HA!!! I always thought a Tennessean was for a more narrow whithered horse.I think she wants a mule tree ,mule saddle to better fit a straight back. Thanks for your comment,but I'm not sure that saddle will work.Audrey
