Thanks Norah ... I have two registered quarter horse mares (my favorite ride turned out to be 78% throrbred) and a GAWD ONLY KNOWS pony ... size of POA/Welch 12hh and about 500+ pounds. And he is a mischievous little horse.
It was very cold, wet, and muddy but the woolly mammoths weren't complaining. Snow loses it's beauty when you have to walk outside and leave your nice warm fireplace behind. Thanks for the comment.
In retirement I became a professional photographer and although I have taken pictures around the world I find myself interested in equine photography, including rodeo and horse portraits. I also enjoy photographing horses acting like ... well ... horses in the wild.
Aside from that I enjoy riding a Harley (not as much as riding a horse), running away from the grand children, and dodging bullets. Life is too short to be pissy!

Christy just put together a HUGE collage of all the pictures I have taken of her along with many her Gramma took throughout the years. She would probably like to have the one you took.
I would love to come out and meet up with you all and take some pictures and watch some of your saddle club competitors. My cameras go with me everyplace I go as a rule but I am not in it to make a living so I'll probably shoot and give more that I will shoot and sell.
Shoot me an e-mail at yellowcreekphoto@ hughes.net with your phone number and I'll return with mine ... hope we can at least meet and talk photography and horses.
Oh yeah..I do not know Christy Starky (pretty girl)..I never had the chance to give her that photo I took at the 4 h show last year..if you think she would like to have it, and can reach her.. let me know!
Thanks so much for the wonderful advice! It means a lot! you are very talented..will maybe run into you around here. We are hosting our saddle club this year at our farm here in Bon Aqua..I will be too busy to take many photos...you are more than welcome to come out to show if you like to do that..or click a few shots, and set up your service if you want!...we will show 2 times a month, then off to the state show ... I am sure you do stay busy, just a thought being you were so close.
We are in Bon Aqua..can not open the front door this morning! Gonna turn the horses out, see if I can get some bucking and farting shots!!! what kind of camera do you use? I have a Cannon, but looking more towards a Nikon in the future...any advice?
Hi Richard....Thanks for all the comments..Yes I live my dream everyday..I'm thinking of retiring but just can't give up my lifestyle. I'll be 67 this year and still in very good health. I have a daughter and 2 grandsons who live in Dickson. This TTR site is so good for horse, country living people. Keep in touch and happy trails....
I go pretty much everyday and when the park is open I can ride. The last couple of weeks I've been baby sitting the grandbaby so.. that just screws the horse thing all up!!
So, Kangeroos?? where was that at? Like the sunset pics also.. Reminds me of sailing in keywest...
Hey, yeah Ed works right beside me in the post office. I bet you know Randal Riley, he lives on union road, I think. He works with us too. He's one of those "ole city carriers". lol Maybe I'll see you on the trail one of these days, I can't wait for warm weather, my little horse needs riding.
