Saddle comfort for horse and rider

I agree. I just put my Tucker saddle on ebay to sell and decided on a flex tree instead since I ride saddle horses. I bought a black Dixie Land saddle and can't wait to ride it on my next trail ride.…

Does she ride a quarter horse? All the information about Tucker saddles (the one I ride most) is for quater horses. I do not own a quarter horse, so just wondering? I ride for 5-6 hours at a time (la…

Update. I rode in a Pro Saddlery Rubber Bar Tree Saddle at 7 Springs. For me, this was the best sitting saddle I have ever ridden in. I also enjoyed close contact with my horse. I asked for a 'clone' of that saddle and am now waiting on mine to be b…

Two words for the best saddle of your life..... "Bob Marshall". It's a NO BRAINER! No tree, you sit right on the horses' back. No tree aka ..... TREELESS!!!!! 17 lbs. Custom made to your specs.

Just returned from Kenny Gladdens 'America's Trail Ride Association' ride at 7 Springs in Tuscumbia, AL. I didn't do a lot of riding on my new horse, Bear, but I did ride a couple of hours the first day and just some riding around close to camp the…

Rhonda, don't expect the Dixie Land to perform any different than a rigid tree. The Dixie Land is built on a Steele tree that is as flexible as a rigid tree. The flex tree from Steele is all advertising hype. And that is directly from the tree manuf…

Hey Rhonda, you can also post your Tucker saddle on the TTR classifieds. There are other saddles for sale there too, they are in the "PRODUCTS" category. I might also be interested in your saddle for my wife; what is the size, style and color?

Always interesting to get feedback and see what saddles are being recommended. I, too, am in the process of looking for my next saddle. I have been looking at websites, sitting in different saddles.... It is hard to decide what is best, but I think…

Does she ride a quarter horse? All the information about Tucker saddles (the one I ride most) is for quater horses. I do not own a quarter horse, so just wondering? I ride for 5-6 hours at a time (last weekend) and I was fine, it just felt as though…

I'm sorry! It is www.sycamorecreeksaddles.com not 'saddlery'. Don't know where I got that. Anyway, that is the correct web address. Have fun shopping!

Interesting. Seems about half of the users of the Tucker High Plains like it just fine, and the other half hate it, and it makes them sore.

Speaking of comfortable AND durable saddles, I was talking to a friend yesterday, in an attempt to help replace a horse for Bernice Ende - Long Rider extraordinaire. Bernice is 56 years old and has been inducted into the prestigious Long Riders' Gui…

It's built on a very thick piece of leather with a good amount of wool padding. The girth and stirrups are rigged with nylon straps that are run between the leather. They recomend that you use the Skito pad, as it's fitted especially for that saddle…

It is true that many of the older design flex panel saddles made a lot of people feel uncomfortable, because they did sit you up higher off the back. And a few of today's designs are still out there that have not changed. This is one of the reasons…

Hey girl, was just thinking about you the other day. Wondered if you were ready to get started back riding. Taking off a week next month, want to ride somewhere. A bunch that I ride with says that they are planning Many Cedars in a few weeks. Let you know when. If you plan any rides this year let me know in time, I would like to go with you.

Yes there is alot of shade and water in illinois (Where we rode at anyways) It is all National Forest that you ride on, so the trees have never been logged and there is no atvs allowed there either. When we went for Memorial Day weekend, the temperatures were like in the 90's, but once we got into the National Forest , I bet it was like 10-15 degrees cooler in the woods. Where we camped at- Double M. ,there was plenty of shade and you can ride directly onto the trails from the camp (Some of the campground places in Shawnee National Forest you have to drive to where you can ride onto the national forest land) And also there is a big lake very close to camp. At Double M there is also a restaurant there that cooks 3 meals a day (if you want too) for a very small price, the bath houses are ok(a litte small) but the people who owns the place are really nice too. And when we went a couple of years ago they charged you by the trailer full (it was like $47) Not by person or by horse! We had a really good time when we went.

There is a ton of camping in illinois! Those pics were taken in Shawnee National Forest, and we were camped at Double M campground. We've got some good friends of ours that live in Kentucy that ride in illinois all the time and they met us up there. They think that Double M is one of the best spots in illinois to camp at. We rode to High Knob campground one day that we went riding and there wasn't any shade available unless you owned a camping spot. We are going to go back to illinois sometime this summer, we're not sure yet when or where were going to go. Our friends from KY are wanting us to go to the 9 day ride at the end of July at 34 Ranch. We liked Shawnee better than Eminence Missouri! Google Shawnee National Forest and it will give you a bunch of links to all the different campgrounds

We thought it would be a horse business when we started getting some mares to breed 7 or 8 years ago, but I think we are more horse collectors than traders!

Thanks for the note. Hope to get out and ride more if time permits. As you know, between work and keeping up the horses, there isn't much free time. Hoping to get out on some of the trails. Your pics are great by the way!
