Tell us something about you, anything.
Horses are a passion of mine and have been since I was 2years old and sat on the origianl Lone Ranger's Silver when he was touring Europe. Though I must have loved them at 6 months cause my mom says I was always saying horsey. I am retired and living on my little ranch named Chasin Dreams. I was a member of the USAF for 10 years and had the dream job of training piolets on the RF4s, A-10s and F15s. After that worked for the Boy Scouts of America and the VA Medical Center. Now my days are spent riding my horses (Paso Finos) and playing with my 2 pits, 2 rats and a sooner I found on a trailride when she was only 4 weeks old. I have one daughter who is my heart and getting married in Jan. My best times are in the saddle on a trail ride but my girlfriends are always busy with other things. MS doesn't have alot of places to ride but if you are interested Stinkin Jim's Witch Dance trails in Houston MS is a great place. I have been invited to ride in TN and look forward to doing that as soon as I can. Guess this is enough info for now. Look forward to meeting people on this site. Until then Happy Trails....

Hi Raven (Trish), We moved to TN from south MS and I know a lot of riders from MS. MS is not our original home, my husband was working out of NO at the time. I would love to come ride with you girls but already scheduled to go for a week long trip in Missouri April 17th. I will check and see when your next ride is. Hope you do come ride with us up here in TN. I am really blessed with dozens of great places to ride close to home.

I so totally agree about the stall thing. I also have no problem if someone wants to breed to have one to keep like you did. I just had my Papillon spayed. I was always going to breed her and keep the pup or pups. Then it got to the point where I didn't want to risk her life. My horses run free on over 100 acres. They have their favorite places the different times of the year and day. It is getting to be a little much as it takes planning if I want to ride. Some day we will put up a barn just so I can have a place for them to wait for the trimmer or vet or going riding. But I'll never use it for all the time. I can't even think of going to an auction. I did when I was a kid and innocent, many years ago. Now just the thought tortures me!! Dawn

Hi Raven - I also care about how they are treated at the auction, how they are transported and how their lives are ended! Why can't these people have a horse or horses and enjoy them? Always wanting to have studs and breed the mares. If they want to breed for slaughter why not do goats or cattle. Make more. I have a problem with their treatment also but horses are "pets" in this country. They actually keep wanting to open up horse slaughter houses here in TN. So we can get all the excess horses in the country? Sorry - I'm a bit jaded about a lot of the people on this site. Dawn
