Hi Petra, All my horses are barefoot. The first thing you have to do is find a true barefoot trimmer. They trim different then a farrier. Imagine always having high heels on and then one day off they come. All your calf muscles would be sore and the bottom of your feet also. There is a week or so for that to adapt. Then you can get boots and ride using them. It is not a fast transition, Remember it takes a hoof a year to grow to all new. Nora, on this site, is a barefoot only trimmer and I think she goes your way. She has a very good site www.barefoothorses.net I very rarely use the boots any more. The thing about giving it a try is that you can always go back to shoes but if you read the info about the damage they do it is hard to think about ever putting them on your horse again. Good Luck, Dawn

Hey Petra,   I'm just across from you in East Knoxville.   I almost rode in the Blaine parade, but had to work.   Hope you enjoy the site.   Would you like to meet and ride sometime?   janet
