They have a show on the 3rd Saturday of every month. It is a Family friendly club, they really focus on the kids. Its an open show with everything from barrel racing to gaited pleasure. They also have a couple wagon trains every yr too, I went on the one last fall. I don't have all the details for the club, but if any… Continue

Riding Lone Mountain State Park

A few of my friends and I are riding Lone Mountain State Park this Saturday 10-12-09. We usually try to get started around 10 am. We normally leave from the back parking area over near Arms Chapel. If anyone is interested in riding with us and would like some information, please let me know. There are two other people from this site that will more than likely be riding. Tim Portice and Ti Arnold. Everyone is welcome.

Sounds like you had fun at the Fox hunt ....just don't let them get you to wear breeching's!!!lol I bet your mule is awesome and gaits nice!!! Jewel will be three in June,so I have taken it nice and slow with her. She is ready to break,I'm checking out trainer's for her ...have you ever heard of a guy named Laddie Key? He lives near Monterey,TN. I will be meeting him at the Mule day Celebration in Columbia,TN. He will be showing his mules at the show,so I can check out his training abilities!!!lol I would like to do it myself ...but I have no one to help me as an assistant,in case I need help!!! My knee is really bad and I'm not sure I could dismount quickly enough,if need be!!! Hopefully I will be riding her by Summer!!! I figured I would keep her in training for at least 3 months. I wish he didn't live so far away ,cause I want to see my mule often!!! Thanks for your comments,I have worked hard on my mule and I am happy with her so far!!! I'll keep you posted on how she is doing,ok? Take care,Audrey Rody

Hey Keith, It was good to hear from you again!!! What have you been doing? I have done everything but step over on my mule!!!! If it wasn't for my bad knee,I think I would've done it already. But I really am worried , if I had to dismount really quick,I don't think I could!!!! I have been checking into some trainers, there is one who lives in East Tennessee,I think,he lives in Hanging Limb,Tenn. Do you know where that is? His name is Laddie Key,my friend rode her neighbors mules, and she said they were very broke and well behaved, and Laddie had trained them!!! He trains gaited mules mostly. Then there are a few others ,but I'm not sure about the training methods they use!!! I sold my paint quarter horse ,so I have some money for training. There's something inside me ,that still wants to break her myself !!!! We'll see soon. But I will defenitely let you know when I come up that way,so keep in touch and hopefully I'll be riding my mule soon!!! Take care and Happy Trails,Audrey Rody

How neat you have mules! I love mules and would love to have one someday -- a gaited mule if possible. So they pull your wagon? That sounds like heaven to me! Do you all ever do the parades anywhere?

It was a glorious day - loved every minute of it... even when I was getting dipped in that cold stream. I added some pics for ya. I have spared ya'll the tags on the pictures, but you can add them if you like. Thank you so much for inviting me and for giving me such an excellent tour of the backside of Lone Mtn!
