A lot of that should be expected after the recent flood. The Buffalo was higher than I have ever seen it. They said it crested way higher than ever before. It will naturally take a while to get things back like they were. I've never been there, alth…
Sorry you are having such worry with your horse. It's almost like having sick children. If she is anything like my horse, put her in the trailer and take her for a ride. I guarantee, she will poop if she can. Hope she gets better soon.

Are you asking in general or are you asking if Tennesseans will judge you? In that case, I doubt it. We'd be so busy judging that we wouldn't have time for anything else. Whether it's the right thing to do or not, there are plenty of people in Tenne…

Oh Jean! When I looked at your pictures I was thinking -- WOW, Jean is really really really young....LOL. I'd love to actually live in TN and have a chance to catch these rides rather than just dream about them....but this is a good thing! Thanks for the compliments on our 'herd'. Did you know if you push the little "i" below the pictures it gives you the info? Except yours just says IMG_1063, etc. I just tried it to see if your pics were labeled.... :-)
Well, I'll be Jean! Yes it is Scooter and I'm glad to meet up with you here too. A lady that works at the college I work at sent me a link to this. Her sister lives in TN and she rides down there some. This is a cute idea - a horseperson's Facebook style...
I hear you, I NEED some better weather to work with my horses, too, right now it's just too cold and wet. Let's definitely plan a ride when the weather gets better. You know a consistent gait comes with age I think. My Gracie holds her gait pretty well for the most part, but with Katy it's more trot than gait for now. They both will be 4 this spring.
Yes, let's plan a ride once the weather improves some (it's snowing like crazy here today). I checked Why Not Ranch's website and it says the trails are well marked. I don't have a real good sense of direction in the woods and I would hate for us to get lost, ha. I think my trailer might be like yours, dressing room and storage over the gooseneck, would probably be ok for an overnight stay.
What about Why Not Ranch, do you know anything about it? I see many people on this website seem to ride there. It wouldn't be too far for either of us (I had to mapquest Lobelville, didn't know where it was). I am willing to try anything that's somewhat in the area (daytrip). My trailer doesn't have living quarters and I haven't done any overnight trips even though that would be an option with some planning. I am flexible since I'm not working right now.
Mine are calm too, I think it's a Rocky trait, that's one reason I love them so much and we need more experience, too. I ride mine mostly on our and my neighbor's property. Which is your favorite trail? I've been to LBL and Percy Warner Park and liked them both, LBL gives you more trails to chose from. Eventually, I would like to ride the RM rated trail program and the ACTHA rides.
I would love to get together and ride, I bought all my Rockies as yearlings and have two under saddle now working on obstacles and trails. I love to trail ride and hope to do lots of it this year.
