We went to Timber Ridge Memorial Day weekend and can't wait to go back. Lee and Dee are the most caring hosts and want to make sure that their guests are happy. Be sure to go on a weekend when Lee is cooking, his smoked brisket is great!!!!!

I heard about this too. My sympathy goes out to the owners of the horse. We were also at BSF over the Memorial Day holiday and we did encounter some 4 wheelers but they pulled over, turned them off and did not start them again until we were a good d…

Rails to Trails is where I "test drove" my new horse. He's not new any more, I've had him almost a year now. Anyway, it's really nice easy riding and most of it was in the shade on the half we rode. There is a spot where you can water your horse and…

Camp Cooking

It won't be long now, hopefully, till the weather breaks and we can start camping again. With that in mind, does anyone have any camp cooking recipes they would like to share?

One of my favorites is mini pineapple upside down cakes made in recycled tuna fish cans. Save several tuna fish cans and wash them out really well.
Prepare a yellow cake mix as directed on the box. Spray each can with cooking spray and put one pineapple ring in the bottom of each can. If you like, put a maraschino cherry… Continue

She's just precious and looks like lots of fun to have a long. I've only been to Shawnee one time. We stayed at Hayes Canyon and were very happy with it. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Ben and Patty, the owners, really go out of their way to make sure you are happy. The campsite was spacious and we loved having the covered pens right there at our site. Not all of the pens are covered, you have to request those and there is an extra charge. We didn't get to ride near as much as we wanted to because of some rain but we enjoyed what we did ride. The ride to Indian Kitchen is nice and the walk down to it from the horse tie area is very pretty.

Oh and as far as I know you can ride/ swim anywhere in the rivers and creeks. We did anyways and nobody stopped us or said anything about there being designated places only!:)

Last year was our 1st trip to emminence too. We were not impressed with the place. There is ALOT of road riding. the last few days that we were there we found some really nice trails along the river. Oh, and I hope you have a bathroom in ya'lls horsetrailer, because they only have port-a-potties! Talk about gross with 2,000 people and 90 degree weather! The showers are ok, the stalls- so so. The food is really good though! We went June 28th through July 5th. I've heard that the ride that they have the beginning of june is much better than the one we went on.

Not a problem. I really think she could help you out. She will send you the fit forms or you can take your mule to her and let her do the fitting, which is what I did. She also let me try out the saddles she had there in stock. I have ridden some saddles that pitched me forward and I sure didn't want to order a custom saddle for the horse that didn't fit me.

Hey Thanks Jacci, I want to make sure my mule is comfortable,I don't want to give her a reason to be in pain, with an ill fitting saddle and possibly bucking me off!!!!!Ha-Ha!!!!!!

Hey ladies, can you all give me advise on how to get back into riding and
conquering your fears of getting hurt or falling off. I have riddem for years, but since I got hurt a couple years ago i have lost my confidence. I am over fifty and overweight so my center of gravity is not what it use to be. I so want to ride again. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Hello Gals, you look like a fun group and I love all the notes. You sound like you all are having a blast. Cannot wait til I find me a gaited horse
so I can ride with all the great people on this website. But I was really
impressed by you ladies. I will keep in touch and maybe next spring we
can meet up and ride(when I find that perfect horse.)
