Looking for nice gaited horse for trail riding. Must possess a smooth gait and quiet nature. I have a bad back and ride with gaited riders. Mare or gelding at least 8 yo with lots of miles. A slow canter would be great but not required. Color, size and breed type flexible. Price depends on horse..
Elaine, do you have reservations for Bear Branch? We did not like it and I have met lots of other people who had the same experience and will not go back there. I recommend Hays Canyon. Check out their website. They are close by and far better camp, facilities and owners.
Hi Elaine, come on by:-) I am recovering from a dog bite to my foot that I had surgery on last year......sigh. Back to the doctor today, but this too shall pass. I am so sorry to hear of your loss and know how much time it takes to get over everything. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Just give me a call when you think you want to come by - I am looking forward to it! Farm number is 731-364-9572 and my cell is 731-514-4068. Talk to you soon and my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org
Which part of The Trace? I have been to Wrangler Camp once several years ago but go to Garrison Creek often during hunting season. I am sorry for the passing of your parents and your loss. My father died years ago but my Mom is now 84 and I have to watch out for her. She is still doing quite well though. We just got in from The Smokies and rode our butts off yesterday in the mountains. It was a lot cooler there. I will talk more later am very tired.
Elaine, my mare is 25 but you would never know it. I have had her over 20 years and am very particular about who she goes to. Also, if she starts declining and cannot be useful I want her back. I have also trail ridden her everywhere and she is great. I just don't think she can do long hard rides anymore and needs to be conditioned. I let kids and non-riders come and ride her at our place and she is a great beginner horse and loves to be groomed. Easy slow rides for 3-4 hrs are ok.
C'mon girl....we have about 25 mules already at the pavilion that arrived today! It has been a long day, to say the least...looks like it is going to be a blast:-) Everyone is super nice and there are beautiful mules, so you just come and have fun and I appreciate the offer for assistance, but I think that I have the Puerto Rican boys earning their keep and we are managing well......you would laugh though...today, we were trying to get the tack together for who is using what, so we have 3 X 5 cards taped to saddles with headstalls, etc with what mule and donkey goes with what...too funny, but it is the only way that I know to lend out tack for 8 animals:-) It has been a long day, but attendees from last year are arriving and it is like old home week and could not be better......see you soon:-) Deb
Elaine....looking forward to it...if you have any questions or need help with anything, we are going to be taking our animals over there all afternoon tomorrow, so just call me on my cell as I do not know where I will be at any given moment for the next few days since we are hosts and I need to make sure that everyone has what they need, so call and I will take care of you. The 5 men from Puerto Rico are here as well as a couple from FL, so I am busier than a one-armed paper hanger now...LOL 731-514-4068 - see you Saturday:-) Deb
I am not sure whether they will have the girl's rodeo team cooking up burgers and such...they have not advised me and did not do it last year, but there are all the usual fast food places within 1/2 mile. Deb
Elaine, Colt Starting will be all day Friday 9 - 5....then Mulemanship 1/2 a day and Colt Starting 1/2 a day Sat/Sun/Mon......each day it will run from 9 - 5...give me a call if you need any further information and I am really looking forward to seeing you there...this will be such fun! Deb
Elaine, I forgot to tell you that we are having a Brad Cameron Colt Starting and Mulemanship One Clinic at UTM Sept 25th - 28th....should be a blast...we have participants coming from as far away as Puerto Rico...we have 11 colts starting (including three Mammoth jennets) and a bunch of folks in Mulemanship...come join the fun and meet some new longear friends:-) My cell is 731-514-4068 if you want more info........Deb
