so sorry to hear about your terrible experience. I have personally worked as a volunteer at Saddle Up and know what great care they take of the horses if they are accepted into their program.

Oh I hope he continues to improve. If you donate him, make sure it is with a reputable program. I had an awful experience with a "program". Even though it was a big name stable, I was shocked with what happened to a horse I donated. We had to pick h…

no official known cause... possibly nerve related///pinched or compromised or possibly a torn muscle... no one is willing to say definitively think they would have to do an mri of the area between his back legs to confirm and we're just not going to…

wow, what a fast turn around :) .. hope he continues to improve!!!...will you still be seeking a home for him?.... What was the official diagnosis?

good news! After a year of going more an d more lame, Easy has turned the corner! He was on Gabapentin for 3 weeks and now he is able to carry me at a walk and at a slow gait. I've got him on an exercise program to bring him slowly back into shape.…

Good luck, I hope you place him in a nice pasture with plenty of grass and sunshine! I will keep my ears open...he deserves a nice retirement.

He has been on a nerve medication for the past 3 weeks to try and determine if the problem is a pinched nerve. when he is excited, he gates and lopes smoothly, as soon as he relaxes, if he is gaiting, it seems like he throws in an extra step occasio…

this was a retired rutherford County mounted patrol horse...we had him for less than a year when he started going lame and has been going lame for the past year. I've gone very far to try and find what is going on with him. I'm trying to find a plac…

Where was your favorite trail riding experience?
Big South Fork... I have a new favorite place to ride! Catoosa Ridge is a new stables and campground new Crossville, TN... It's fantastic! Their grand opening is in September 2009 but we stayed there this past weekend! Our horses were all barefoot and had no problems. Variety in the trails, up hill and down, thru water, mud, wide open pastures, wide open trails that were color coded to mark the way. 50 miles of privately owned trails with access to the Catoosa Wildlife Magangement Aread that has over 90,000 acres! We stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin.
Tell us something about you, anything.
Tom and I got our first horses May 2008 and have been loving it ever since. It's a whole new world for us. I got Justin, a quarter horse and Tom got Easy a TWH. We love to trail ride. Justin behaves much better in a rope halter than he does with a bit in his mouth but Easy is just the opposite.

Hi Deb,
Easy is a great horse. He showed some dragging his foot when he first came to us but, now he is showing no signs of trouble. We just love to ride him. Our 8 year old granddaughter came up from Texas to visit us and she rode Easy in a trot, lope and gait. She is a little gal who competes in barrel racing. Great little rider. Easy did just fine. Be assured that Easy has a forever loving home here with us. Thanks again for the opportunity to own him.

Thank you for showing me the sight...Easy doesn't even look lame or look anything like that horse. He's been on Gabapentin for 3 weeks and I rode him for the first time yesterday. He's started out a little "lumpy" but then started gaiting and walking smoothly. Maybe....we're starting to come thru this issue. I plan to take it slow and easy with him.

JRoy on this site has a horse that they think had a pinched nerve back in 2007. Never found out exactly what the problem was. Had medical insurance and had every type of test done and chiropratic and acupucture. The problem slowly went away and she now rides the horse. Here is a link to the youtube video she had posted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIbaPYBfNw8

Hi Deb,
Thanks for your comment on Josh Guinn. I think i want to do his 12 week course. I am under the weather right now and not sure how long it will be before I can ride again of course I wasn't sick when i asked about Josh's training.Did you go to his ranch for lessons? How many days a week? I have been riding about 10+ years I have shown in dressage and hunt seat. my horse came up lame and so did I(hahaha) I just kinda didn't want to ride anymore after that. Now I have two wonderful mares that are green broke and I need to do something with them.I haven't ridden much at all in the past 3 years. Rode about a month ago and man I'm OUT OF SHAPE !!!!!! THIS IS A WONDERFUL WEBSITE

Want to go to Circle E on the 28th instead? I just looked at the events and the natural horse ride isn't on there anymore. Do you see it? I've made a reservation for Circle E and rented a trailer. Wish you guys will decide to go.
