"For convenience for me, I signed up for a permit at Sulphur Springs, in Elkmont, TN. It takes me about an hour to get there. I'm looking for something closer to Hazel Green, AL, but no luck so far. Cyndy"
"Thank you so much for the encouragement! My ankle sounds so simple compared to what you ladies have been through. I will try and focus on 10 weeks from now. I'm the only one in my family that really deals with the horses so…"
"Good Morning! I haven't been on TTR for quite awhile, but since I'm off work till Jan. 3rd, I thought I'd pop in and look for some horse-spiration! This time of year I wonder why I still have horses. My main…"
I work in the public school system and can't wait to get out and ride this summer. Problem is, everybody else seems to be at work! Is there a posse of teachers eager for the trails as well? I live in Hazel Green, Alabama and ride a Spotted Saddle Horse, Dakota.
Good morning - there is a PWHAT (Pleasure Walking Horse Association) trail riding coming up this Saturday, June 13, at Percy Warner Park that you might be interested in - I am planning on going. Have a great day!
Hi Cyndy and I guess Jeannie is getting these too....
Glad you're gonna make it!! It gets a little hectic with all the trailers coming in at once, but they're pretty good and will wait till everyone is pretty much ready. My horse is just turning 3, and I haven't had him for very long so I hope he's good. I have a feeling that he's gonna freak out with all the horses and trailers. I didn't have a horse for the ride last year, but the fall ride had 458 horses. This ride usually only has about 250. I'm a little nervous taking him cause it's been about 10 years since i've ridden and at that it was flat saddle, not western. I also had the dentist here today and he took out his wolf teeth and a cap. Should be an interesting ride.
Anyway, i'm looking forward to it and to meeting you! Drive Safe and let's make sure we meet up all of us!!! I'll be walking with my hubby and my friend, she has a mule, we'll be with 2 guys on a John Deere Gator. Michele
Hello Cyndy! I am going by myself - you are welcome to meet me here and follow me - I live on the Hwy 64 end of Fairfield Pike, if that is convenient for you. The trails are easy, a few very gentle ups and downs, and then a stop halfway for lunch. I will probably ride until lunch, then head back to the trailer. The ride is at the Wartrace Show grounds, which is across from the Wartrace Park. My horse is gaited, but very laid back and a little pokey. I only know one person on the trail ride, so I would love to have company. Just let me know if you need anything additional - my phone number is 580-2648.
Hi Cyndy, My name is Michele, I live in Wartrace where the ride is, and just joined Jcarrol as a friend, and saw that you may come to the ride tomorrow. We are leaving from my house at 9:00, it takes just a few minutes on the horses to get to where the ride starts. I know 1/2 the ride is a little hilly, but not bad at all, nice wide trails for the most part. (There are some hills but I don't think the ride goes all the way up them) There is a lunch 1/2 way thru so you can always stop half way if you want after the lunch. This will be my first time on the ride. They go up my driveway thru my property. Let me know if you decide to go and we can be sure to meet! I think my friend that is going with me is going to cut out at the 1/2 way point.
Hope to meet you! Michele
