Hi Jaime,
I would recommend checking out the Rickman Saddle Club
http://rickman-saddle-club.webs.com/
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rickman-Saddle-Club/154906777889607
or the Tri Color Acres Saddle Club:

It's mostly the same group of people at both venues. They organise trail rides, and it would be a good way for you to meet other horse owners locally and then organise your own trail rides. The saddle club shows are very laid back and accommodating to people who have never shown before ( as I was) but equally happy to have experienced members.
You could even go to the shows without bringing a horse just to meet the people. They wouldn't mind at all.

Jamie, I live in Monterey :) We trail ride a lot in BSF, East Fork and Catoosa Ridge. You're welcome to join us sometime! We have also just started a saddle club in Crossville, called the Plateau Saddle Club. We have a website, www.plateausaddleclub.com, and a Facebook page (which is the easiest way to follow us). We have a ride scheduled every month, and clinics and dinners and speakers at the meetings. Feel free to email me, barefoothorses@hotmail.com!
