I live in Shelbyville and would like to take my horses trail riding, but can't seem to find a good place to go. Anyone have any suggestions?

Natchez trace state park is great to ride and camp.

Percy Warner, Nashville, Duck River trails near Culleoka, you can trail ride on Clearview Farm which is in Shelbyville

Hello Dusty - Can you tell me more about the trails at Clearview Farms? That is so close to me..also, have you ridden @ Stones River in Murfreesboro? Hope you have a great 4th of July - we need to get together and ride. Jeannie C.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! I'm interested in hearing more about Clearview...

The phone # for Clearview is 931-684-8822. Call and ask about the trails and what they charge. I am not sure how many miles but it's close and it would be a different place to go. It's not real far from me either. Marie, the owner, is really nice. I know people who have taken horses there and ridden, if you want to go let me know what you find out and maybe we could go over together.

Thanks Dusty,

I'll be out of town through the middle of next week, but will definately look into it soon and let you know!

How far will you drive? Are you able to ride during the week? I love going to the walls of Jericho, but do not go down the new trail take the one to the left, far better. Also, Circle E is there to pay for day riding (Winchester on top of Carter Mountain). In the winter we have Williamsport Lakes in Maury Co but the tics are unbelievable during the summer. I usually go to Laurel Hill but that would be about 2 hrs for you. I live near the Duck River trails but ride there in summer/fall because of mud the rest of the year and usually only for a quick ride.

Hi Linda,

I'm willing to drive as far as I need to, but not farther than necessary! I am available during the week... Would you ever want to ride? Thank you SO much for the suggestions! I am having a hard time finding maps or info online, however. Thanks, Mindy

Go to the top of the forums page on this site, and click on the "trail rating websites", there are listings of trails all over Tennessee and the US.

Of course, I will ALWAYS recommend Big South Fork and Saddle Valley Campground

I thought all they did was ride round and round in an arena in Shelbyville, that's why you can't find a good trail down there.LOL
