The fourth annual St. Jude Cowboy Weekend and Trail Ride is being hosted by Calico Junction Mule Ranch in Hohenwald on May 8, 9, and 10th 2009. Marilyn Reynolds authentic chuck wagon cooking is featured this year. Meals at the restored chuck wagon are available by reservation only.
A retired caterer from Dickson County, Ms. Reynolds concocts such authentic delights as hearty beef stew, “Corn Dodgers,” Cowboy beans, fried peach pies, and bread pudding in her iron skillets over an open campfire. To experience this unique dining experience at the Cowboy Weekend call Marilyn (615) 522-7045 for a reservation.
Gates open on Friday at noon at the Calico Junction Mule Ranch. Live bands on stage, Friday and Saturday. Cowboy Church on Sunday at 10am. Free primitive camping. Food vendors on site. Events include Extreme Trail Horse Race; poker run; auctions; Noavel headstall Training with World-Class professional horse trainer, Rick Wheat; a chance to win a mule; and much more family fun.
Bring your horse to join the trail ride on 100 miles of well-marked scenic trails on over 2500 acres of hardwoods, pines, valleys, mountains, meadows, streams and waterfalls. Four-legged transportation is available for rent from Calico Junction Ranch, call (931) 796-4111 or (615) 268-6269.
