Event Description

In 2003 singer/songwriter Phil Thomas set out to loosely re-create Crockett's ride from Lawrenceburg Tn to the Alamo and fight for a different kind of freedom: for respect of those with Down syndrome, such as his grandson. In continuing this tradition, we are hosting the 7th annual Davy Crockett ride this October for Down Syndrome Awareness.
Many Cedars Campground in Lewis County TN has graciously agreed to donate all ride fees to this cause.
A hearty meal as well as entertainment by some of Nashville's best singer/songwriters and our own Phil Thomas will be provided campfire style.
Cabins and campsites are available; please make reservations as this weekend is an excellent one for riding.

Just checked the weather forecast, so far so good. It's calling for sunny skies and a high around 57 on Saturday.

I was wondering if anyone is near Lewisburg that myself and my horse could ride with - if not that is fine. Also, what type of trail are we ride so I can plan accordingly.

Last time I checked, all the cabins are taken, but campsites are still available.
Call 931-796-4384 for reservations. You do not need reservations for the day ride, just overnight camping.
One other thing, we are asking that you refrain from taking alcholic beverages on the organized ride only.
Thanks and Happy Trails!

Organized Ride is from 10:00 to 2:00, lead by our very own Tennessee Trail Rider Linda Grajewski (thanks Linda!) everyone is welcome to join the organized ride or ride out on your own. The whole campground and trails are at our disposal.
Food will be served from 4:00 to 5:00 and catered by Connie Brown, owner of Connie's Cafe in Waynesboro TN.
From 5:00 to ? we will be having a swap and shop tack sale. Bring anything new or used to sell then buy what you need. We are requesting 10% of sale donated to Down Syndrome Awareness.
Then after this full day, come gather around the campfire at the pavillion for some great entertainment provided by Phil Thomas and the Stump Jumpers. Phil has many, many friends and family in the music industry and you just never know who will show up!
See ya'll there!
